Rules & Regulations

To maintain a disciplined, respectful, and conducive learning environment, all students of C.M. Annamalai College of Education (CMACOE) must adhere to the following rules and regulations. Violations may result in disciplinary action, penalties, suspension, or expulsion, as deemed appropriate by the college authorities.

College Transport & Bus Regulations

  • Students must behave properly while using the college transport facility.
  • Any misbehavior on buses will lead to suspension from transport services.

Library & College Property

  • Students must maintain silence in the library and handle books carefully.
  • Any damage to books, furniture, or other college property will lead to penalties or replacement charges.

Anti-Ragging & Harassment Policy

  • Ragging or harassment of juniors or freshers in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Any incident of ragging will be reported to the police and dealt with as per law.
  • The college has full authority to impose penalties, suspend, or expel students involved in ragging.
  • All cases will be reported to the university, which may result in the cancellation of the student’s registration number.
  • Students are expected to treat all peers, faculty, and staff with respect and maintain a healthy learning atmosphere.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Students must reach the college on time every day.
  • Students must attend all scheduled classes regularly.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance (65% for medical or sports reasons) is mandatory to appear for university examinations.
  • Leave of absence must be requested in writing by the student or parent, and approved by the Head of Department (HOD) in advance.
  • Unexplained absences for more than three consecutive days will result in removal from college rolls. Re-admission will be subject to a valid explanation from parents/guardians.

Workshop & Practical Session Attire

  • Students must wear respective uniforms for practical classes.
  • Loose-fitting clothes are not permitted during workshop practical sessions to ensure safety.
  • Leather shoes are mandatory inside the workshop area.

Dress Code & Identity Card

  • All students must wear the prescribed college uniform while on campus.
  • Boys must tuck in their shirts at all times.
  • Jeans, T-shirts with tattoos or symbols, and other inappropriate attire are strictly prohibited inside the campus.
  • Students must always wear their ID cards on a sling in the college campus, classrooms, and college buses.

Classroom & Campus Conduct

  • Students must not loiter outside classrooms or leave the college premises during class hours without permission.
  • Absolute discipline must be maintained inside classrooms and on campus.
  • Students must keep classrooms and the campus clean and ensure proper disposal of waste.
  • Damage to college property (such as walls, electrical fittings, or classroom items) is a serious offense. Defaulters will be penalized or dismissed.

General Discipline

  • Unauthorized meetings, unions, or group gatherings are strictly prohibited within the college premises.
  • Students are not allowed to celebrate birthdays or host parties inside the campus.
  • Outsiders are not allowed inside the college without prior permission from the college authorities.
  • Students must refrain from using indecent language, abusive behavior, or derogatory remarks against fellow students, faculty, or staff members.

Prohibited Activities

  • Smoking, consuming alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicants inside the college premises is strictly prohibited.
  • Bringing or carrying weapons, explosives, or harmful items is strictly forbidden.
  • Any disturbance during examinations will lead to strict disciplinary action, including expulsion from the college.
  • Any form of disrespect toward teaching, non-teaching staff, or fellow students (including the use of offensive language) will lead to strict action.

Examination & Academic Integrity

  • Students must maintain strict discipline inside the examination hall.
  • Any misconduct, cheating, or disruption during exams will lead to severe disciplinary action, including cancellation of the exam or expulsion.

Mobile Phone Usage

  • Mobile phones must be switched off or kept on silent mode inside classrooms and during lectures.
  • Misuse of mobile phones or engaging in social media during academic hours is strictly prohibited.

Disciplinary Actions & Penalties

  • Any violation of the above rules will result in strict disciplinary actions, including:
  • Warnings & Counselling
  • Suspension from classes or college activities
  • Fines or penalties
  • Expulsion from the college

All students are expected to follow these rules diligently. The college authorities reserve the right to modify or add regulations as necessary to maintain discipline and academic integrity.
